How We Work
Why we say coaching, not counselling
A plain statement of what Biblical coaching is, what it isn't, and how we decide when to refer someone elsewhere.

We are careful with our words because the difference is not cosmetic. Biblical coaching is spiritual reflection and guidance grounded in Christian principles. Counselling and therapy are licensed clinical practices that diagnose and treat.
Nopa Foundation does the first. We do not do the second, and we will say so directly rather than blur the line to keep someone in the room.
In practice this means our coaches are trained to notice when a conversation has moved into territory that needs a licensed professional, and to say so early. We keep referral routes to local licensed services and we help people take that step.
This is not a limitation we resent. It is what makes the coaching trustworthy. People can bring us their spiritual questions knowing we are not quietly attempting something we are not qualified to do.
If you are in crisis, please contact a licensed professional or, in the United States, call or text 988. If you are in immediate danger, call 911.
